...Swarup after many briefings created a spectacular home to be sited at the front of our existing home. We received objections and a hearing was called by our council City of Greater Geelong.
Swarup attended the hearing and not only overcame the objections he was complimented by the panel on creating an iconic design. This project was approved and will be completed in 2016.
The second design was even more challenging as the remaining triangular block was 280 sq meters. Swarup created a two storey two bedroom unit with views across the bay to Melbourne.
The council approved the design however following a panel meeting withdrew support.
Swarup immediately recommended that we go to VCAT and with the assistance from his suggested legal team our submission was upheld by VCAT who complimented the design.
We will have three homes on our block all with spectacular views across the bay.The service given by Swarup has been faultless with both process and the design of both homes.

I did my first dual occupancy long before most others in the business- in fact Dual Occupancy was a new terminology then.
Was the dual project a success? Yes! most definitely it was- a real success story!-having graduated as an Architect overseas and with solid planning and negotiating experience helped.
It set me up for more projects.
Was it easy? No! We had as many objections and resistance from the Local Council then as we sometimes do today!
The dual occ was set in an area surrounded by large homes with tennis courts and swimming pools. One house (the first mansion in the area) even had a cricket pitch!
So you can imagine the owners - my neighbours- when they saw the Dual Occ project being advertised by Council!
They were up in arms! Even the Council's planning officer recommended a refusal. I presented to a full Council and convinced them to issue a Planning Permit.
Knowledge, Patience and Persistence was the winner at the end of the day and the project was built and sold many times over!!
A Bit about me
I started AuArchitecture after consulting to Architects and Developers for many years. During that period I designed and managed all types of buildings- from dual occs to multi storey apartments, health, retail, hospitality, industrial... and the list goes on. But residential is where my heart lies- from my thesis at University to now- decades later!
